Functions of the Council
The functions of Nevashi Union Parishad No. 6 are as follows: -

* To maintain law and order and assist the administration in this regard.
* To take various steps to curb crime and smuggling.
* Agriculture, tree planting, fisheries and animal husbandry health, cottage industries, irrigation communication.
* Expansion of family planning activities.
* To develop and ensure the use of local resources.
* Preservation of public property such as roads, bridges, culverts, dams, canals, telephones, electricity etc.
* To review the development activities of other organizations at the union level and to make recommendations in this regard to the Upazila Nirbahi Officer if necessary.
* To encourage people to use hygienic toilets.
* To register birth-death, blind, beggar and destitute.
* Conduct all types of censuses.
* To help all kinds of organizations.
